I have spent twenty-five years at the intersection of luxury fashion, marketing, and trend forecasting. My career was built on translating cultural shifts, predicting what consumers would want next, and driving strategy for global consultancies, as well as directing retail growth and managing wholesale accounts for iconic houses like Jil Sander. I understand how the fashion industry is engineered at its highest levels.

But a few years ago, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy.

During my recovery, I couldn't help but research and evaluate the bras available on the market through the lens of my expertise.  Old habits die hard, even in a hospital gown. What I uncovered was a quiet, systemic crisis hiding in our underwear drawers. Eighty percent of bras and sixty percent of all clothing textiles are synthetic, petroleum-based plastics that shed microplastics and leach PFAS, "forever chemicals" linked to severe endocrine disruption.

I knew this unregulated space wasn't going to fix itself. So I took everything I've lived - twenty-five years in the fashion industry, a master's degree in sustainable business, and the hard lessons of my own recovery -  to create grace layer.

Our bras are made without plastics, synthetics, or chemicals. We start with 100% traceable, extra-fine Oregon Shaniko wool,  a raw, organic fiber that offers natural performance and support, and pair it with elastic made entirely from natural rubber, a plastic-free alternative with real elasticity and resilience. Even the smallest details are considered: our hook & eyes are custom made in Italy from organic cotton and Oeko-Tex cadmium- and nickel-free metal.
